Common Questions

If you don't see your question below, don't hesitate to contact us.

As a rough guide, most two-post lifts want around 12 feet of clearance, though low-ceiling and asymmetric setups can work in less. Measure to the lowest obstruction, not the peak — garage door tracks, opener rails, beams and lighting all count. Send us your height and what you're lifting and we'll tell you what fits.

[CONFIRM AGAINST YOUR MODELS' MANUALS BEFORE PUBLISHING]

This is the question most people skip, and the one that matters most. Two-post lifts require a minimum slab thickness and concrete strength, fully cured, with no cracks near the anchor points.

[CONFIRM: state the minimum thickness and PSI rating for the lifts you stock — verify against each manufacturer's manual.]

If you don't know what's under your garage, a core test costs far less than the alternative.

Two-post lifts leave the wheels hanging so you can pull them — better for brakes, suspension and tire work. Four-post lifts drive on, are more stable, and are easier on your slab, which makes them better for storage, exhaust and underbody jobs.

Mostly storage and the occasional oil change? Four-post. Actually turning wrenches? Two-post.

[CONFIRM: your shipping coverage and whether installation is included, available for a fee, or not offered.]

These ship freight on a pallet and need a forklift or liftgate at delivery. We confirm what's available at your address before dispatch — tell us up front if you're on a residential street with no equipment.

[CONFIRM: state the requirements across your range — 110V, 220V single-phase, or three-phase.]

Anything needing 220V or a new dedicated circuit means a licensed electrician and, in most places, a permit. Check with your local building department before you order.
